Probus Club of Worksop

The aim of the Probus Club of Worksop is to provide retired professionals and businessmen with the opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of a group of like-minded people. The object of all Probus Clubs is to promote fellowship amongst members by holding regular meetings and social functions. All Probus Clubs are non-political and non-sectarian.  The club now has a membership of about 50 with high attendance at meetings.  Meetings are held at the Worksop Cricket Club from 10.00 to 12.00 on alternate Fridays.  Members are encouraged to invite guests and prospective new members.

Club members and guests enjoy talks, often illustrated with slides on a wide range of interesting subjects. Speakers are selected from specialists in their subject and from members who are happy to share a wealth of knowledge and anecdotes.

The club is socially active; lunches are arranged for members and their wives (partners) at the Worksop Golf Club. Overnight trips and day outings are organised and there is a Bowls Section meeting weekly at the local leisure centre.
